Annual Mindfulness Outdoors Picnic 🌿🌞 Join us for the very first Annual Mindfulness Outdoors Picnic, a special gathering to celebrate community, connection, and nature! This is a chance to relax, share food, and enjoy the outdoors with fellow members of our Mindfulness Outdoors group. We’ll take time to slow down, be present, and appreciate the beauty around us through mindful activities like gentle movement, nature connection, and sharing meaningful conversations. Walking Series – Week 5 – Willingness, Acceptance, & Action

About this Event: So where do you go from here? At this 5th and final event of the season, we will explore what it would feel like to stop striving to be better, to stop comparing ourselves to others, and to stop criticizing ourselves for how we think and feel. What would it feel like to accept yourself with all your successes AND failures? We will look at how you can better understand the next steps toward your goals and the life you want. We will also learn and practice how to prioritize these next steps. As always, we will start with a discussion of the concept, then practice the techniques during our walk. Come join us and your true self for a mindful moment on the Mountain! A $5 donation is suggested but not required for the event. Each event begins with a short explanation of the theme for that day. We then take a short walk together where I highlight how to practice the therapeutic technique we just discussed. Then, you will have time to practice the technique while walking on your own for a few minutes. At the end of the event, we come back together as a group and discuss (or not, it’s up to you) our experiences. There will be chocolate 🙂 A $10 donation is appreciated but not required for the event. About the event: How to Prioritize What Matters Most As we go through our day-to-day lives, we often lose sight of what is important and focus our energies on things that do not truly matter to us. Throughout our discussion and walk, we will look at how you can better understand what is important to you and how knowing what matters can improve your well-being. I will then provide tips on prioritizing what is most important. As always, we will start with a discussion of the concept, then practice the techniques during our walk. About the event: Walking with your Thoughts At this group, we will discuss thoughts and our relationship to our thoughts. We will discuss cognitive defusion, a technique for ‘unhooking’ or taking the power out of those thoughts that trouble us most. We will then practice various cognitive (thought) defusion techniques while taking a mindful walk on Mount Royal. Come explore your mind and thoughts during a walk on the Mountain! The walking series begins again!! Walking with the Senses On this walk, we will learn the basics of mindfulness and how to engage our senses to bring us into the present moment while we are in nature. We will start with a discussion on mindfulness, what it is, and how you can use it to improve your mental health and well-being. Walking while Noticing At this event, we will discuss self-as-context. This is a technique where we learn how to observe ourselves. We observe our thoughts, our feelings, our body sensations, and our senses. This technique allows us a deeper understanding of our reactions and struggles and offers us a means to heal.
