SUMMARY:*FREE* Winter Forest Bathing with Moire
DESCRIPTION:❄️ Free Winter Forest Bathing with Dr. Moire Stevenson | Mo
unt Royal | Mindfulness Outdoors Montreal\nAn evening walk in the snowy woo
ds\, in the heart of the city.\nMost of us spend winter evenings indoors. T
his one\, we'll head into the woods of Mount Royal after dark\, when the pa
rk goes quiet and the city lights glow on the snow.\nForest bathing\, a pra
ctice that originated in Japan as shinrin-yoku\, simply means spending time
in the forest mindfully: walking slowly and paying attention to what you s
ee\, hear\, smell\, and feel. Winter offers its own version of the experien
ce: crisp air\, the crunch of snow underfoot\, and long views through the b
are trees.\nThis free\, drop-in walk will be led by Dr. Moire Stevenson\, l
icensed clinical psychologist and founder of Mindfulness Outdoors. No exper
ience is needed\, just a willingness to slow down and step outside.\nDr. St
evenson also co-facilitates our Ecotherapy Program. Feel free to bring any
questions about the program\, and she'll be glad to answer them.\n\n🌲 Wh
at to expect\n\nA slow\, guided walk of about [45 minutes]\, with no partic
ular fitness level required\nSimple invitations to notice the winter forest
through your senses\nTime for quiet reflection\, rest\, and optional shari
ng with the group\nA welcoming\, inclusive space for everyone\n\n\n📍 Loc
ation: Mordecai Richler Gazebo\, Mount Royal Park\, Montreal🗓 When: Tues
 day\, January 5\, 2027\, 6:00–7:30 PM💰 Cost: Free. A $10 donation is a
ppreciated but not required. You can bring cash or send an e-transfer to in
fo@moirestevenson.com.🗣 Language: Bilingual (English and French)\n\n🧤
Dress for the cold\nWe'll be moving slowly and standing still at times\, s
o dress warmer than you think you need to. Layer up (avoid cotton next to y
 our skin)\, and bring mittens (they're much warmer than gloves)\, a hat\, a
nd a scarf. Wear warm\, waterproof boots with good grip. If the paths are i
cy\, ice cleats are a good idea. For more tips\, see Moire's guide to winte
 r forest bathing.\nWeather: In case of freezing rain\, a blizzard\, or unsa
fe icy conditions\, the walk will be cancelled or rescheduled. [Check the e
vent page on the day for updates.]\n\nWhy forest bathing on Mount Royal?\nM
ount Royal is more than a Montreal landmark. It's a forested park right in
the city\, so you don't need to travel far to spend real time among the tre
es. Research suggests that time in nature can lift mood and ease stress\, a
nd that practising mindfulness in natural settings may add to those benefit
 s. Read more about why time in nature is good for your wellbeing on Moire's
  blog.\nSee you on the mountain!
